The Pinehouse Photography Club (PPC): Empowering Youth Through Creativity

Welcome to the remarkable story of the Pinehouse Photography Club (PPC), a beacon of hope and creative expression founded by Primary Care Nurse Dre Erwin RN(AAP) and teenager Jonah Natomagan. This unique initiative emerged from a shared vision to address the urgent mental health concerns affecting the adolescents in our local community. 

In 2018, the PPC garnered national recognition when it was featured on the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation's program, 'New Lens on Life.' This spotlight not only illuminated the extraordinary work of the club but also underscored the critical need for creative pathways to address mental wellness issues among young people. 

Since then, the PPC has blossomed into a vital resource for Pinehouse's emerging photographers. It provides a space where young individuals discover solace, inspiration, and a supportive community. Through the camera lens, club members have unearthed the therapeutic benefits of photography, using it as a tool to manage stress, express emotions, and find beauty in everyday life.
